Arlene provides unmatched real estate services in metropolitan Phoenix and throughout Arizona’s Valley of the Sun. With more than fifteen years of experience, she is dedicated to working with clients every step of the way, overseeing the myriad of details and taking the stress out of selling or purchasing a home.

Knowledge of industry standards and procedures, extensive experience with contracts and escrows, and a strong focus on client’s needs and desires have earned for Arlene an exceptional reputation as a skilled real estate professional. “Honesty and integrity are at the core of my personal values. And all of my relationships with clients and other agents are based on trust and experience.”

Extensive education and training, unique business experiences, and professional credentials have shaped Arlene’s skills. She is a real estate broker in both Arizona and California. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and holds a Master Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from National University. Also, she graduated from the prestigious Ecole de Cuisine La Varenne cooking school in Paris, France and for more than five years owned and operated the Good Cooks & Company cooking schools and kitchenware stores in the San Francisco Bay area.

Arlene is also a retired U.S. Navy officer. Her 20-year career provided exceptional opportunities to learn how to work effectively with numerous colleagues and build critical leadership skills. She traveled to Navy bases around the world to assure productive and cost-effective program performance. She negotiated and administered multi-million dollar contracts as the comptroller of a major fleet support organization and led a team of 40 hospitality professionals to manage and operate a major housing facility. Arlene also served as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Manpower at the US Navy’s base in Iceland. In that position, she worked closely with the White House and the Secret Service to facilitate President Reagan’s famous meeting there with the Soviet Union’s President Gorbachev.

Today, Arlene and her business colleague and husband, Mark Day, comprise Better Desert Living Partners.

Mark has more than 25 years of experience as a professional marketing communications and public relations executive. As a Better Desert Living partner, he plans, implements, and manages marketing campaigns and projects to enable efficient and timely sale of clients’ real estate.

Extensive staff and executive-level experience have given Mark a unique perspective on how marketing communication tools and resources can be deployed effectively within the real estate industry. As a licensed Realtor, he tailors advertising, social media, and networking strategies to the unique marketing needs of each client’s property. Mark also manages marketing and communication programs specifically developed to attract a wide assortment of qualified and interested buyers to the team’s for-sale listings.
